Testing of the Microbial Emissions from Biofilters

Emissions from Biofilters:

Sample Collection at an industrial site

This project has investigated the microbial emissions from both lab-scale biofilters and several industrial-scale units. While biofiltration is a cost effective and more utilized air treatment technology there have been very few investigation looking at the microbial load these units place on the surrounding air. These investigations have looked at fugitive emissions of both heterotrophic microorganisms, as well as coliforms and specific pathogens.
