This project is a partnership between the MicroLab and Minergy Corporation. The project is investigating the destruction and detoxification of a variety of compounds including MGP (Manufactured Gas Plant Waste) waste using and oxy-fueld vitrification system. MGP waste is highly toxic and carcinogenic and is a major source of on-going pollution in the Great Lakes region. Former MGP sites dot the waterways around both Lake Superior and Lake Michigan.
